If a machine has a 98% slot percentage payout, the hold percentage would equal 2% which means the casino would receive $2 on every $100 wagered. If the life span on a machine was 2 years with 100,000 spins per year at $1 a spin, the slot machine hold percentage would bring an expected return of $4000.
